The Student Union has long existed and operated at our Faculty. Since May 17, 2017, it has been officially registered with the Ministry of Justice and Administration of Canton Sarajevo as the “Association of the Student Union of the Catholic Faculty of Theology in Sarajevo,” and since then, the KBF Student Union has been a member of the Student Parliament of the University of Sarajevo.
The objectives of the Student Union of the Catholic Faculty of Theology are:
To achieve its objectives, the Association performs the following activities:
Considering issues and implementing activities related to: the quality of teaching, reform of study programs, analysis of study effectiveness, determination of ECTS credit numbers, improvement of student mobility, promotion of student scientific research, protection of student rights, and enhancement of student living standards;
Organizing students of the Catholic Faculty of Theology in Sarajevo, regardless of their year of study, status, or other characteristics;
Performing professional, administrative, and other tasks for the members of the Association;
Improving the work and operations of the Association’s members through the application of technical and technological advancements to ensure more rational use of materials and energy;
Cooperation with public media, participation in various events and activities related to the Association’s objectives and operations;
Establishing cooperation for the benefit of the Association, primarily with the administration of the Catholic Faculty of Theology, the administration of the University of Sarajevo, the Ministry of Education, student unions and associations of other faculties, and the Student Parliament of the University of Sarajevo;
Adopting a general act regulating the organizational and functional connection of the Association with the Student Parliament, if necessary;
Establishing commissions for various activities to improve the Association’s operations.
Developing the Association’s development plans;
Participating in the evaluation process of the Catholic Faculty of Theology in Sarajevo, in accordance with the University Statute and the regulations of the Catholic Faculty of Theology in Sarajevo;
Publishing books, brochures, and other publications to achieve the Association’s objectives in accordance with the Law;
Organizing student symposia, forums, scientific research projects, debates, and other appropriate activities to achieve the Association’s objectives;
Organizing voluntary work to achieve the Association’s objectives;
Performing other activities in accordance with the Law, the Law on Student Organizing of Sarajevo Canton, the Statute of the University of Sarajevo, the Regulations of the Catholic Faculty of Theology in Sarajevo, the SPUS Statute, this Statute, and the general acts of the University of Sarajevo, the Catholic Faculty of Theology in Sarajevo, SPUS, and the Association.
The Student Parliament of the University of Sarajevo is a democratically organized association that acts as an elected representative body representing the interests of students of the University of Sarajevo, participates in the work and decision-making processes within the bodies of the University of Sarajevo, coordinates the work and establishment of common policies for student councils of the University’s organizational units, and performs other duties defined by Laws and bylaws.
SPUS is a non-political, non-partisan, non-governmental, and non-profit organization that upholds the principle of equality for all students, as well as everyone’s rights and freedoms, regardless of race, skin color, gender, language, religion, political or other beliefs, national or social origin, property, birth, education, social status, or other characteristics.
