Access to databases not in open access varies from database to database. For more detailed information on how to access them, please contact the Library staff.
In 2025, access is provided to the following scientific databases (bibliographic, citation and full-text):
A bibliographic database is a type of database that contains information about publications, but not their full text. Its main purpose is to enable the discovery of works on a specific topic, authorship of a certain theme, publishing, etc.
It usually includes the following information about publications:
Title of Work
Authors
Journal/Book Title
Year of Publication
Abstracts
Keywords
ISBN / ISSN
DOI (Digital Object Identifier)
Sometimes also: number of pages, language, subject area, etc.
It does not contain the full text of the work, unless the database is linked to a source that provides full-text access.
It enables researchers to:
Find literature by topics, authors, or sources
Write seminar papers, theses, and scientific papers
Monitor research trends
Reference organization and management
A citation database (Eng. citation database) is a specialized type of database that contains information about scientific publications and mutual citations between works.
Citation databases usually contain:
Titles of scientific papers
Authors’ names
Year of Publication
Sources (journals, conferences, etc.)
Abstracts
References cited by the work
Information on who cited the given work (i.e., citation count)
It enables researchers to:
track works and authors cited by other researchers in a specific field
monitor the impact of certain publications (e.g., number of citations)
discover relevant literature in a specific area
analyze scientific trends.

Description: Web of Science is a platform that contains multiple citation indexes and databases. Web of Science is a bibliographic and citation database that covers more than 18,500 peer-reviewed journals in its three indexes: Social Sciences Citation Index, Science Citation Index, and Arts and Humanities Citation Index. It enables monitoring of output with the highest impact factors, as well as citation analyses that are of exceptional importance for faculty and associates when preparing their works for publication in eminent publications. The Web of Science platform contains over 33,000 indexed journals and nearly a billion records of cited references, including articles, conference proceedings, reports, patents, and more.

Description: Scopus is the largest bibliographic and citation database for researching peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals. Scopus has built-in tools that enable researchers to effectively track, analyze, and visualize research easily and at their chosen level of detail. Scopus offers access to over 22,000+ journal titles from over 5,000 publishers, over 3,800 open access journals (gold route), and over 33 million records.

Covered areas: A multidisciplinary database encompassing various collections of archival and current issues of scientific journals. Access is provided to JSTOR databases: Arts & Sciences III and Religion & Theology.
Database type: full-text database.
Description: The Arts & Sciences III collection brings together titles from various languages, performing and visual arts, including a music collection. It also contains a large number of titles on Eastern and Western religions. It covers scientific fields: architecture and architectural history, art and art history, film, folklore, language and literature, music, performing arts, religion.
The Religion & Theology collection covers the history and philosophy of religious thought across traditions, periods, and critical approaches to religion and theology. In addition to journals, JSTOR offers more than 13,000 digital books in open access.

Producer: Elsevier.
Description: ScienceDirect is a journal collection that provides a vast source of information for researchers, faculty, students, and information professionals. ScienceDirect encompasses a collection of scientific journals covering the fields of natural, technical, and biomedical sciences, as well as a smaller number of journals in the social sciences and humanities.
The availability of individual titles and articles can be checked using the filter for each title, which will display information about the possibility of downloading the full text.

Database type: database platform.
Description: EBSCOhost is a platform through which EBSCO databases and databases from other publishers are available. The platform includes bibliographic databases and full-text databases, and works from the fields of natural, technical, social sciences and humanities, and biotechnological sciences can be found.
